The
surviving members of Drowning Pool have decided to carry on with the
group following the death of frontman Dave Williams and are looking
towards making new music and hiring a new singer.
Guitarist C.J. Pierce told Launch that the Texas-based group "just
started jamming again a week ago, writing new songs. We're gonna try
to keep this thing going...try to find someone else who fits with us."
According to Pierce, a number of aspiring singers have contacted
Drowning Pool's management to audition for Williams' spot, but at this
point the group is only making a list of potential candidates.
"We're not ready yet to bring somebody in — we're still getting
used to the fact this is how it's gonna be," Pierce said. "The last
couple days it's been easier. We've just been coming in with new
material we like and getting excited about playing again. We know
we're gonna work somebody in here pretty soon. It may take a few
months it may take a few years. I hope it doesn't take long, 'cause I
really love to play."
Williams was found dead in a bunk on Drowning Pool's tour bus on

Dave Williams did not die as a result of drugs or
alcohol, as was widely rumored following the Aug. 14 discovery of his
body on the band's tour bus in Manassas, Va. Toxicology reports show
Williams died of natural causes due to a heart problem known as
cardiomyopathy. "[The report says] 'nothing found' and this is the
truth my friends," says Pool's tour manager.

A public funeral service for
Drowning Pool
singer Dave Williams. The event took place in August 2002 in Plano, Texas
Surviving members C.J. Pierce, Stevie Benton and Mike Luce shared
the following thought:
We lost a band-mate and a best friend today. Dave Williams was one
of a kind, and a friend to everyone he met. He was a good man, and
a giving person. Not a day went by when he wasn't giving somebody
a little present, and touching everyone around him with his
passion. He was full of energy until the day he passed, and
undeniably full of life. To the end, we were having a great time.
We will miss him.
Anything other than flowers, send to,
Dave Williams
